Life as a ‘normal’ family…(so far) January 27, 2010
We had David’s welcome home ceremony on Friday, which was more like a pep rally for the Army & soldiers. It was a ton of fun and we were lucky enough to have our friends Debbie & Jay~Cee come along with us. Debbie & I met almost 1.5 yrs. ago when we were bothed moved to Killeen for the Army, both pregnant and all! Needless to say, with our husbands both being in the Army and in the same unit, we have a lot in common! She had Jay~Cee about 2 mo. after Reagen so it is fun reuniting the girls and seeing their progress!
The welcome home ceremony was very energetic! They had live cameras so we were able to see the soldiers filing off of the plane about 3 miles away, you could feel everyone getting so excited and anxious to welcome home these men who’ve been gone for a yr! They then announced that their white buses that were once taking our loved ones away from us, were now on their way back to the ceremony field. All of a sudden, you heard the sirens of a cop car and you could see the white buses turning the corner….everyone was ecsatically cheering by now! The buses carried about 300 soldiers, they pulled up and alls you could see was their feet filing off of the buses….once the soldiers were in formation, the crowd yelled “moved that bus!” and away the went…it was such an amazing and proud moment! They marched the field, a prayer and thank-you was said…..”and go find your families”…chaos ensued! It was great!
Bring home my daddy! January 20, 2010
- Signs we made for Daddy’s arrival!
- Signs that will go on Reagen’s wagon!
- “Gosh Mom, do you always have to take pictures of me!”
- “Fine, I will hold of this sign, but I am still watching TV”
Back to her roots… January 17, 2010
We finally are getting settled in…we came back to Texas about a week ago and I am happy to say I have the whole house set up for David’s arrival…now we are just waiting anxiously. I feel like this week has just flown by, I can’t believe 1 week ago I was in Champaign shoveling 2 inches of snow and now it is sunny & 70 degrees and we are headed to the park after Reagen’s nap!! Reagen is adjusting very well, she loves her room and the weather, afterall she was born in Texas!
I have this bad habit of letting Reagen run around naked as often as I can, I feel like it can’t be comfortable in a diaper all day. Reagen has developed a habit of peeing/pooping consistently when her diaper is off..it has sort of become a habitual clean up/ freeing experience. Needless to say, she has already christened our house, if you will, with both #1 & #2….oopsie poopsie!!
David and I also decided that since our stay in TX will be short lived, I am going to stay home w/ Reagen instead of working. I can’t be more excited with the idea, and Reagen loves it too!
We will miss all the friends and loved ones back in Champaign, especially grandma, grandpa, & Chance! We love you all.

Prepared Driver… October 5, 2009

Have your cake, and eat it too! October 5, 2009
We couldn’t have asked for a better turn out for Reagen’s birthday party. All of our closest friends/family were there to help celebrate. I originally had planned on keeping Reagen’s 1st birthday party small as the first birthday party is usually more for the parents. Needless to say, I am more than happy that I decided to invite all the people who love Reagen. David’s parents did such an awesome job at hosting and I couldn’t have asked for a better location than their huge backyard. I will say, that if you ever want to bring a ‘hit’ dish to a party, I have a great bean dip recipe, thanks to my mom! My little baby is now stomping on the heels of toddlerdom, let’s hope this next year is as gratifying and joyful as the first.
Hired Hand… September 23, 2009
Wanted: Economical person who will help me with daily activities which include: laundry, dishes, doing bills, going to work, straightening my unruly hair, changing poopy diapers, and all other activities which keep me from doing fun things, such as: playing w/ Reagen, blogging, shopping, and playing w/ Reagen.
Hourly wage: Willing to negotiate.
Seriously though, I am not sure what it is about being a working mom, I just feel like I have no time for myself or as much time as I would like w/ Reagen.
We did have Reagen’s first birthday party this past weekend and me being scattered brained, forgot my camera so if you attended the party and took pics, please email them to me brookedlc15@yahoo.com

Yes, I do love being the center of attention!
A summers end… September 7, 2009
We have thoroughly enjoyed our summer and all the great things that came along with it. As the summer winds down we are truly looking forward to fall. Fall is definitely my FAVORITE season: pumpkins, fall leaves, weather, football games, apple cider, pumpkin pies, sweaters & jeans, Halloween, and closer to having David home!!! Reagen & I are planning a fall full of great activities and small trips. We are starting ‘mommy & me’ swim lessons here in Sept. and she is turning 1!!!! I still can’t believe it has been one yr. since I was going to the hospital and being terrified about being a mom. Now I am a mommy and couldn’t have asked for a more difficult but gratifying job in my life! Every month she never ceases to amaze me. Bring on the fall season!!!
We were able to go back home this weekend for one of my cousin’s wedding. It was a beatiful day and of course, the bride was beautiful. Here’s a couple pics of Reagen attending her first wedding.
Family. August 26, 2009
We had the opportunity this past weekend to visit with my step-sister and her family all the way from Oregon. It was so nice to catch up and Reagen finally was able to meet her cousins. Joseph (3 yrs.) and Jack (15 mo.) are great little boys and Reagen thoroughly enjoyed their visit. I think I am still re-couping from all the commotion. I did get a brave streak in me one night and gave all three of the monsters a bath!
