Reagen has recently become fascinated with brushing all 4 of her teeth! This new fascination of hers has actually become quite a struggle due to the fact that Reagen LOVES to share all her new ‘toys’ with my mom’s dog, Reagen’s best friend, Chance. Unfortunately, I have to become once again the party pooper and keep the toothbrush strictly for bathroom time!

Yes Mom, I DO know how to brush my own teeth!

We couldn’t have asked for a better turn out for Reagen’s birthday party. All of our closest friends/family were there to help celebrate. I originally had planned on keeping Reagen’s 1st birthday party small as the first birthday party is usually more for the parents. Needless to say, I am more than happy that I decided to invite all the people who love Reagen. David’s parents did such an awesome job at hosting and I couldn’t have asked for a better location than their huge backyard. I will say, that if you ever want to bring a ‘hit’ dish to a party, I have a great bean dip recipe, thanks to my mom! My little baby is now stomping on the heels of toddlerdom, let’s hope this next year is as gratifying and joyful as the first.

Wanted:  Economical person who will help me with daily activities which include: laundry, dishes, doing bills, going to work, straightening my unruly hair, changing poopy diapers, and all other activities which keep me from doing fun things, such as: playing w/ Reagen, blogging, shopping, and playing w/ Reagen.

Hourly wage: Willing to negotiate.

Seriously though, I am not sure what it is about being a working mom, I just feel like I have no time for myself  or as much time as I would like w/ Reagen.

We did have Reagen’s first birthday party this past weekend and me being scattered brained, forgot my camera so if you attended the party and took pics, please email them to me brookedlc15@yahoo.com

Yes, I do love being the center of attention!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our summer and all the great things that came along with it. As the summer winds down we are truly looking forward to fall. Fall is definitely my FAVORITE season: pumpkins, fall leaves, weather, football games, apple cider, pumpkin pies, sweaters & jeans, Halloween, and closer to having David home!!! Reagen & I are planning a fall full of great activities and small trips. We are starting ‘mommy & me’ swim lessons here in Sept. and she is turning 1!!!! I still can’t believe it has been one yr. since I was going to the hospital and being terrified about being a mom. Now I am a mommy and couldn’t have asked for a more difficult but gratifying job in my life! Every month she never ceases to amaze me. Bring on the fall season!!!

We were able to go back home this weekend for one of my cousin’s wedding. It was a beatiful day and of course, the bride was beautiful. Here’s a couple pics of Reagen attending her first wedding.

We had the opportunity this past weekend to visit with my step-sister and her family all the way from Oregon. It was so nice to catch up and Reagen finally was able to meet her cousins. Joseph (3 yrs.) and Jack (15 mo.) are great little boys and Reagen thoroughly enjoyed their visit. I think I am still re-couping from all the commotion. I did get a brave streak in me one night and gave all three of the monsters a bath!

No I don't have a stank eye, this is just the way I look!

No I don't have a stank eye, this is just the way I look!

Reagen continues to have problems with her stye(s) on her eye.  At first it started w/ a chalazion on her top eyelid, it basically looked like a huge bump underneath her eyelid. The poor thing had it for about 3 months. I kept taking her to the doctor and with much persistance she said it will run it’s course. It did. NOW, she has a even bigger stye on the bottom eyelid. This one is bigger and she has to be annoyed by it, which I can tell she must be as most of her eyelashes on that particular eye are gone! It is big and red, and sad for me to look at. Nevertheless, my doctor again says to let it run its course…I have done alot of digging around on the internet and everything says it should only last a week at the most. I have tried hot (warm) compresses on it, which she absolutely hates and I can hardly get her to stay still, but still nothing. If you have any ideas on this matter I am willing to try ANYTHING!!!!

Reagen just got a new wagon this past weekend, it’s amazing how such simple things can make a child so happy. Just being pulled around the house in her new wagon was an adventure in itself. Of course we had to add a little daddy into the mix, hence the army blanket.
Rejoicing about the new wagon!!!

Loving Life

Loving Life

A friend of mine once said that military families of deployed soldiers get 15 days to do what most people will do in a year. This is absolutely true. If you are a family member of an Army soldier then deployments are 12 months which I will admittedly tell you is a long and difficult year. Thankfully our soldiers get a 15 day R&R (rest & relief). I am not sure you would call it rest for these guys as most try to fit in all the normal things people do in a year into their short lived vacation. Following the norm, we fit in as much as we could while David was home and it was SO nice to have him around again. Sometimes I forget how nice it is to have a husband, as mine has been gone for 3 (seperate) years out of the past 5! It was wonderful to have him around and to be a family again. I will save you the details of EVERYTHING we did but let’s just say we did everything from napping in the afternoons, late night movies, gambling, and even a little fishing to name a few! 6 months to go before we will be reunited, and it will be a long 6 months but I am already planning numerous outings & events to keep Reagen & I busy, let’s hope it goes quickly for our sake!
